Body contouring surgery improves the shape of the body by removing the sagging skin and excess fat. Our bodies often store unwanted fat in the upper arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks, groin and thighs. People who are obese or overweight and have weight-related problems often suffer skin sagging problems after rapid weight loss. This gives an unpleasant appearance that affects the person’s self-esteem. So, it is possible to feel bad after putting in a lot of effort to lose weight, but do not be sad. There is an effective solution to get rid of the excess skin problem.
The surgery is done under general anaesthesia. It takes about 4-6 hours, sometimes longer depending on the procedure to be performed. Usually, the operations performed during one single operation are breast reduction, tummy tuck, belt lipectomy, arm lift, butt lift and thigh lift.
After the operation, the patient is kept in the hospital for a day or two. The patient gets out of bed and starts walking on the same day after surgery. The patient then wears clothes that support the body, depending on the type of the surgery (corset, bra, elastic bandage). It should be worn for a week without taking it off, it can be removed the second week for 3-4 hours a day. The patients usually go back to do their daily activities after the 5th day and return to work. Like all other plastic surgeries, sports that would not damage the operated area can be performed after the 3rd week, and all activities can be done after the 6th week.
